Cisco Greater China consists of China , Hong Kong SRA and Taiwan and employs more than 3,000 people with facilities spanning the entire country.  Cisco made its first presence in China in 1994.  There are currently 13 sales offices in China , including key facilities in Beijing , Shanghai , Guangzhou and Chengdu .   Shanghai is also home to the company’s China R&D facility.  The culture of Giving Back is very strong in within Cisco and Cisco China .  A good example is Cisco’s $45 million, three-year commitment to support reconstruction efforts in the earthquake affected area in Sichuan .

 

Cisco Greater China Legal Department is currently located in Beijing , Shanghai and Hong Kong .  We manage all legal matters across China and the Greater China area.  We support sales, marketing, R&D, Cisco China strategy ( China 3.0) team, procurement and serve as a liaison for other groups within Cisco Legal Department with respect to matters related to Greater China .  We are looking for additional help to support our in-house attorneys.

 

Responsibilities: Typical responsibilities include:

 

• Translation of legal and non-legal documents (English/Chinese)
• Updating Cisco Great China Legal Service web site
• Research on Chinese laws, regulations, and updates etc.
• Assisting in-house attorneys with contract review
• Interfacing with internal clients to gather information or answer certain questions
• Other tasks may be assigned from time to time

 

Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who are motivated and willing to learn from experienced in-house attorneys. Desired qualifications include:

 

• First or second year graduate students preferred; Third year undergraduate students with outstanding credentials
• Excellent academic credentials
• Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese skills
• Good interpersonal skills and comfort working across company and department teams
• Sense of humor is a plus

 

Prior experience of internship in an international or top domestic law firm or multinational corporation in-house legal department is preferred but not required.  Exact job assignments will depend on the talents, interests and locations of those who apply.  It is important that you have a willingness to learn new skills and facilitate Cisco China business activities. 

 

Work hours and Location:

 

During summer or winter breaks, you are expected to work full-time (8 hours a day, 5 days a week) at Cisco China ( Beijing ) office.

 

During school time, you will work certain amount of time at the Cisco office.

 

Cisco China ( Beijing ) is located at Yintai Building , No. 2 Jian Guo Men Wai Street, Chaoyang District.
