Business Intelligence/Due Diligence Research Analyst

 

The mission of Morgan Stanley’s Corporate Security & Investigations Department is to develop, implement, and maintain a well-balanced risk mitigation program throughout the Firm. The program is designed to ensure that an adequate level of protection exists for all of the Firm’s assets. As such, the department regularly provides due diligence reports on any business or individual who is a prospective client of the bank in order to safeguard the Firm from associating with any undesirable entities.

 

The Asia Pacific Corporate Security & Investigations Department is looking for a new member for the Due Diligence team. Candidates must be intuitive and have strong investigative and analytical skills. He/She should be curious, tenacious, and detail oriented. Candidates should be experienced in the use of on-line information retrieval resources (including, but not limited to the Internet), public records, government databases and other regulatory filings.

 

Responsibilities:

-         Independent production of due diligence background reports from start to finish.

-         Write summary reports based on factual findings from open source desktop research (media and Internet, regulatory and litigation records, company filings, etc.)

-         Assist Case Managers in performing database research on a variety of public information databases

-         Utilize various computer applications for record-keeping, report formatting, forms, cost tracking, etc.

 

Requirements

-         Bachelors’ degree

-         Excellent command of English and Chinese (both written and spoken)

-         Proven academic accomplishments.

-         Extremely experienced with online databases usage (ie. the Internet, public records, proprietary databases) to gather information.

-         Demonstrated accurate and thorough research capability

-         Demonstrated ability to write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information

-         Excellent organization and time management skills required

-         Prior AML/OFAC/FCPA experience a plus

-         Additional languages a plus
